Treating Sunstroke & Heat exhaustion with Natural Remedies

It's HOT OUT THERE! Today's topic is SUN STROKE!!

Very appropriate considering the high temperatures we have been experiencing.

One of the best remedies for sunstroke, including the dizziness, throbbing headache, dehydration, confusion, fainting, difficulty breathing is Homeopathic BELLADONNA (known as deadly nightshade in the plant kingdom, but here we are talking about the homeopathic remedy not the plant itself)

In this type of Sunstroke, the face is very red and hot, the eyes maybe sensitive to light or a headache maybe sensitive to light.

SUNSTROKE is a medical emergency and emergency help should be found, however, the remedy can be given while waiting for help.

Give one dose (2 pellets) of the Homeopathic Belladonna 30c or 200c  every 15 minutes for the first 2-3 doses, after that lengthen the repetition to every 30 minutes- 2 hours as the improvement continues.

If the patient has nausea/diarrhea from the sun and it is more a heat exhaustion, rather than a severe heat stroke, but they are weak and dizzy from being in the sun, then give Homeopathic NATRUM CARBONICUM 30C, one dose every 1-2 hours for a few doses as needed depending on the severity.

Lengthen the time between doses as the patient improves.

Where possible give the remedy 15 minutes away from any food or drink, however, in an emergency this rule is not important, give the remedy asap.

As the patient responds, give the remedy less often.

A dose of a remedy is 2 pellets (which are the size of peppercorns). When possible, crush the pellets (to increase the absorption of the remedy) and place the pellets in your pet’s mouth in the gums/lip area. For people, simply place the pellets in the mouth/gum area and suck on them.

Homeopathic remedies should be given as soon as possible in an accident or first aid situation.

Disclaimer: The use of these remedies does NOT replace Medical care by a professional and Medical care should be sought as soon as possible. These can be given ‘on the way’ to the doctor/veterinarian.

**remember that as the patient improves, give the remedy less often by increasing the time between each dose, thereby allowing the body to tell you when the remedy is needed.

Homeopathic remedies can be purchased at most health food stores, we recommend Cloverdale Pharmasave or Finlandia for best selection.
